Overview
A well-known company was faced with the challenge of consolidating its data landscape and developing a comprehensive reporting system.
By using modern technologies such as Microsoft SSIS and the low-code platform nedyx, an individual solution was developed that optimized the data landscape and thus provided a valid basis for future decisions.
Initial situation
The company had several upstream systems, some with different figures and - due to previous system changes - no uniform database.
Our aim was to develop a reporting application that would analyze the catering sector according to the customer's exact requirements. The existing tool was to be replaced, data management centralized and manual interfaces and multiple data maintenance avoided.
The solution
The project team began with a detailed analysis of the existing upstream systems and a survey of the requirements of all departments involved. Thanks to this comprehensive analysis, we obtained a clear picture of the necessary data structures and interfaces.
With the help of Microsoft SSIS, ETL processes (extraction, transformation and loading) were developed to integrate data from the various upstream systems into the central data warehouse. These processes ensured that data from merchandise management and POS systems was consolidated and cleansed to create a uniform and consistent database.
The central database on the Azure SQL Server ensured that all relevant data was available in real time, which meant that the analyses and reports were always up to date. By using the low-code platform nedyx, users were able to create user-defined reports and dashboards without in-depth programming knowledge. This increased flexibility and efficiency in reporting.
The introduction of the new "Gastro App" has brought several benefits:
- Centralized data storage and the automation of data maintenance led to a considerable reduction in manual errors and effort.
- Transparency and traceability of data were increased, which contributed to more informed decision-making processes.
The new solution's intuitive user interface and powerful analysis tools have been very well received by users.

The combination of Microsoft technologies and the low-code platform nedyx offered a flexible and scalable solution that met the customer's diverse requirements.
Our innovative solution not only enabled a significant improvement in data quality and transparency, but also an increase in reporting efficiency.
In future, the system is to be extended to other specialist areas. Thanks to the use of low-code, the "look & feel" of the application can be retained, which means that the UI elements that users are familiar with are retained to ensure intuitive use - without having to get used to them.
